1. Introduction
1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Conferences of Estoril 2023 event organized by Nova School of Business & Economics (NSBE) and Nova Medical School (NMS).
1.2. These terms also apply to the use of the event website and the registration flows provided.
1.3. NSBE and NMS reserve the right to modify the presentation, configuration, and content of the event and its platforms, as well as the access and/or usage requirements. Any modification or alteration will be effective from the moment they are implemented. By accessing, browsing, and using the event website and other platforms, the User expressly and unreservedly agrees to all the terms and conditions set forth.
By registering for the Event, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions, as well as acknowledge and accept the Privacy Policy.
2. Use of the event platforms
2.1. The event registration website and other event platforms are intended solely for legitimate and appropriate purposes. It is strictly prohibited to use the platforms for illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, offensive, obscene, or rights-violating activities. Any misuse of the registration website will result in
immediate cancellation of the registration and may be subject to legal action by the organizing entity.
2.2. The organization reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect the security and integrity of the platforms, including tracking suspicious activities and cooperating with competent authorities for investigation and accountability.
3. Registration
3.1. Registration for the Event is free/open, but mandatory for anyone interested in participating.
3.2. To register, you must fill out the provided registration form and ensure that all information provided is true and accurate.
3.3. Registration is personal and non-transferable. It is not allowed to register on behalf of another person.
3.4. The organization reserves the right to cancel a registration without prior notice if false or inaccurate information is identified or if there are violations of the Terms and Conditions.
3.5. The organization reserves the right to refuse admission, both in-person and online, to any participant who is deemed inappropriate or violates the Terms and Conditions of the Event.
4. Notifications
4.1. Your participation in the Event implies receiving email notifications related to your registration for the Event. If you choose to install the Event's application, you may also receive push notifications through the application. If you wish to cancel your registration and stop receiving messages, please contact us via email at info@estorilconferences.org.
4.2. By registering for the event, you may receive email notifications related to future editions of the same event. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the procedures indicated in the messages. For more information about the processing of your personal data, please refer to the Event's Privacy Notice.
5. Modes of Participation
5.1. The Event offers two modes of participation: in-person and virtual.
5.2. To register for the in-person mode, it is necessary to have legitimately obtained a specific registration code.
5.3. The organization reserves the right to limit the number of participants according to the capacity of the event venue.
6. Changes and Cancellation
6.1. The organization reserves the right to make changes to the venue, program, schedules, speakers, or any other aspect of the Event if necessary. Participants will be notified of any relevant changes.
6.2. In the event of the Event's cancellation, participants will be notified as far in advance as possible.
7. Registration Cancellation
7.1. Participants have the right to cancel their registration for the Event at any time.
7.2. If you wish to cancel your registration, please contact the organization via email at info@estorilconferences.org or through the contact channels provided in the registration form or on theEvent's webpage.
8. Substitutions
8.1. Substitutions are not allowed.
9. Image Capture
9.1. The in-person format of the Event will involve the capturing of images and videos that may be used by the organization for promotional and dissemination purposes. By participating in the Event in-person,
participants acknowledge that their image may be captured and used for these purposes. The rights of data subjects, as granted by personal data protection legislation, will be ensured.
10. Participant Verification
10.1. In the interest of the security and integrity of the Event, the organization will implement a participant verification process.
10.2. This process aims to ensure that all participants are suitable and compliant with the event policies.
10.3. As part of this process, the organization will collaborate with national security authorities, sharing participants' personal data only for the purpose of verification and "vouching," based on the interest and protection of all participants.
10.4. National security authorities will conduct proper analysis and verification of participants' data to ensure the security of the event.
11. Personal Data Processing
11.1. All terms related to the processing of personal data are best described in the Event's Privacy Notice, as well as, supplementarily, in the NSBE and NMS Privacy Policies. The Notice and Privacy Policies describe how your personal data provided during the registration process is collected, used, stored, and protected.
12. Responsability
12.1. Participants are responsible for any damages or losses caused by themselves during the Event, whether in-person or virtual.
12.2. The organization is not responsible for any losses, damages, injuries, or any other incidents that occur during the Event.
13. Limitation of Liability
13.1. NSBE and NMS do not assume any responsibility for any damages, losses, injuries, or harm arising from participation in the Event, except in cases where liability is legally established.
13.2. NSBE and NMS are not responsible for any technical issues, interruptions, connection failures, or other issues related to the use of the virtual platform or technology used for the Event.
14. Intellectual Property
14.1. All intellectual property rights related to the Event, including promotional materials, presentations, website content, and any other related material, are exclusively owned by NSBE and NMS.
14.2. Reproduction, distribution, or any unauthorized use of these materials without prior written consent from NSBE and NMS is strictly prohibited.
15. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
15.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions.
15.2. Any dispute relating to these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Portugal.
